Dr. Darrian McKiernan

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor

Practice Founder

Dr. Darrian McKiernan LMFT, Arizona telehealth therapist and supervisor

Many of my clients come to therapy because they're tired of feeling stuck in the same patterns despite having insight into what's wrong. They may struggle with the impact of trauma, unhealthy relationship dynamics, people-pleasing, anxiety, or difficulty setting boundaries. Often, they've spent years understanding the problem but are looking for concrete strategies and honest feedback to help create lasting change.

My approach is supportive, direct, and action-oriented. Clients often describe me as authentic, straightforward, and refreshingly honest. While I believe feeling understood is an important part of therapy, I also believe meaningful growth happens when insight is paired with accountability and practical action. If you're looking for a therapist who will simply nod along, I may not be the best fit. If you're looking for someone who will help you identify patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop effective tools for change, we may work well together.

I have particular expertise in supporting survivors of sexual trauma, relational trauma, and attachment wounds. Together, we'll explore how past experiences continue to influence your present relationships, emotions, and sense of self while building practical skills to help you move forward with greater confidence and self-trust.

I hold a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Florida State University and currently serve coaching clients nationwide and therapy clients in Arizona and Florida. I am also the Co-Director of Arizona State University's Marriage and Family Therapy Program, where I train future relational and trauma-informed therapists.

I work best with clients who are motivated for growth, open to honest conversations, and ready to actively engage in the process of change. If you're seeking therapy that offers both insight and practical tools, I'd be honored to support you.
